Overview

  • Industry: Education / STEM Leadership
  • Timeline: 3 Months

  • Crafted all brand messaging (mission, about, headlines, CTAs)
  • Provided a strategy roadmap for future growth and funding alignment

  • Professional website launched under budget and ahead of schedule
  • Positioned InnovateSTEM to secure partnerships and grants
  • Boosted Kayla’s visibility as a thought leader in education equity
  • Established a long-term digital infrastructure that can grow with her programs

“Working with GAIL Consults gave my vision structure. I finally have a website that reflects my mission, and I felt heard and supported every step of the way.”

CFCG was ready to launch a historic initiative—the Central Georgia Empowerment Fund, the region’s first Black Giving Fund—but needed trusted leadership to develop the messaging, lead the launch, and engage the community in a way that felt authentic, inclusive, and visionary. • Authored internal strategy documents to guide the fund’s growth

  • Fund successfully launched with over $100K pledged in the first year
  • Achieved media coverage and regional awareness
  • Sparked a movement of community-led philanthropy in Central Georgia
  • CFCG became one of the few community foundations in the South to house a fund explicitly focused on Black-led giving

“Nancy’s voice was the heartbeat of this foundation during her time there. She brought strategy, passion, and structure to ideas that needed both care and clarity. The community felt seen—and they showed up and continue to do so.”

Macon Head Space

“Mental Health, Made Local” — How a Vision Became Macon’s First Pop-Up Mental Wellness Gym

Overview

• Industry:  Nonprofit / Mental Health Advocacy

• Timeline:  2020 – Present

• Scope of Work:  Founding Strategy, Branding, Website Development, Social Media Growth, Community Programming

www.maconheadspace.com

In the heart of Macon, Georgia, access to culturally relevant, community-centered mental health care was severely limited. The conversation around mental wellness—especially in Black and underserved communities—was still stigmatized or siloed. There was no local infrastructure that made mental health support feel normal, accessible, and ours.

As a one-woman powerhouse, she:

 • Created the brand identity and built the nonprofit from the ground up

 • Designed and launched the first version of the website, then oversaw its full redesign

 • Curated community-informed messaging that made mental health approachable and inclusive

 • Grew the Instagram audience from 0 to over 1,000 engaged followers

 • Created a slate of pop-up events and mental wellness activations, including:

 • Mental Health Gym events with licensed Black therapists

 • Community listening sessions and workshops

 • Strategic partnerships with local leaders and businesses

 • Managed all outreach, design, fundraising, and programming herself

🔹 The Results:

 • Built the first grassroots mental wellness movement in Macon

 • Reached hundreds of residents through live events and online programming

 • Inspired new narratives about Black mental health, healing, and community care

 • Laid the groundwork for future nonprofit growth and funding opportunities

Note: The brand has now become a model for how local mental health access can look, feel, and function differently when built from within the community. The mental health pop-up gyms are also ongoing and powered by the local government's Macon Mental Health Matters program.

“I didn’t wait for permission to build what I knew our people needed. Macon Head Space isn’t just a nonprofit—it’s a love letter to everyone who thought they had to heal alone.”

— Nancy Cleveland, Executive Director of Macon Head Space
